Hi Friends and Clients,
Wow, what a very wet summer we've had, but it sure gave everybody something to talk about. Toronto broke the record for the rainiest, wettest summer to date.
Regarding our real estate market, we are down 16% in the volume of total sales from 2007, which was the best real estate year in history for Toronto. Interestingly enough though, we are only down 3% from 2006, which was the second best year in history. Enough of the gloom and doom that is currently being filtered through the media. The moral of the story is that we are now in a very healthy real estate market. In today's market, buyers have the luxury of not having to make a split second decision on a purchase and can also view significantly more homes than the one or two that may have been available a year ago. This obviously is a far less stressful situation than we have had in the past. Historically, interest rates are still very attractive and most economic indicators seem to be suggesting that they will continue to be so in the foreseeable future.
In a couple of weeks, Adrienne and Bridget are traveling to St. John's, Newfoundland for the Royal LePage National Sales Conference. These conventions are very informative, as they have some of the best speakers in our industry conveying cutting edge trends, which will help us in serving you, our clients. Plus, they have never been to St. John's before and are sure to enjoy the famous Newfoundlander hospitality.
Hope you are all ready for the new season and are looking forward to everything it has to offer. Please call us directly if you have any questions regarding our real estate market, or would like a complimentary evaluation of your property.
Sincerely,
Team Kassen
